This Fotos Fonseca gallery shows the brand in its quiet elegance - with photos from a time when the historic building could still be entered. Exterior facades, workshops and small architectural details give an idea of the spirit of Francisco E. Fonseca and his love of style. Where once fine cigars were carefully packaged and labelled, silence reigns today - but the atmosphere remains.
History
Our photos focus on exterior shots of the buildings. In the picture gallery, aficionadas and aficionados get a small visual impression of the famous and less famous buildings - a nice introduction to the Fonseca story without historical archive pictures, but with a real sense of place.

Fonseca - the name stands for cigars of the highest quality. This was always the aim of the company founder and is still realised today.
Although there are „only“ four formats of the Fonseca brand, the Cosacos, Delicias, Cadetes and the Fonseca No.1, these are still very popular and continue to be wrapped in the finest paper.
Fonseca had its first company headquarters at Calle Dragones No. 39. Here is a view of the street; the first factory could have been in this house.
Like Calle Dragones, Calle Gervasio is located in Havana's Centro Habana district. Another Fonseca brand factory was located on this street, the exact location of which can no longer be determined.

The building of the former Fonseca manufactory is solidly built, as you can see from this wooden ceiling in the passageway between the entrance and the archways.
Calle Galiano (or Avenida de Italia) is a very busy street that leads directly to the Malecon. The Fonseca factory is located here on the right-hand side of the street, recognisable by its round gable.
