La Gloria Cubana cigars have stood for Cuban tradition and luxurious presentation since 1885. The brand became particularly well-known for its artistic lithographs, the Medaille d’Or series, and its close connection to the Partagás factory in Havana.

History
La Gloria Cubana developed over decades through various owners and significant partnerships within the Cuban cigar industry. The brand survived revolutions, changes in location, and reductions in its range, yet it remained a respected jewel among Habanos.

Today, the cigar bands of the La Gloria Cubana brand feature an image similar to the Vista (illustration on the inner lid of the box).

The branding for La Gloria Cubana is rather understated these days (logo on the lid), with yellow being the dominant colour.

From 1885, Sociedad Cabañas y Castro manufactured the first cigars of the La Gloria Cubana brand in a house at Calle Corrales No. 53 in Havana.

In 1899, the La Gloria Cubana brand was owned by Christian Ehlers. The cigars were manufactured at Calle Gervasio No. 137.

As the inscription on the gable of the house at Calle Gervasio No. 137 reveals, the La Gloria Cubana brand's factory was later used as the El Siboney factory, owned by the company Habana Commercial y Cia.

After the company J.F. Rocha y Cia. took over the La Gloria Cubana brand in 1905, the cigars were manufactured at their premises on Calle San Miguel No. 364.

From 1910, J.F.Rocha and Don Pepin, owners of the Romeo y Julieta brand, entered into a partnership. The cigars were henceforth produced in the factory at Calle Belascoain No. 2A.

From 1910, the La Gloria Cubana brand was a sort of little sister to Romeo y Julieta. Both brands were produced in the same house.
