History El Rey del Mundo
El Rey del Mundo is one of the oldest Habanos brands still in existence. Having changed hands several times since 1848, it has always remained successful and has been produced in some of Havana's most important factories. To this day, it remains a highly regarded brand among connoisseurs.
El Rey del Mundo - The King of the World. A wonderful name for a cigar brand. The initials A y H. (in the centre of the logo) cannot be assigned to any of the brand's numerous owners.
The Vista of the El Rey del Mundo brand, an image with many details: a king whose chariot is pulled by a horse, an elephant, a dromedary (camel), ??? and a sheep. Of course, the gold medals won are also included.
The standard portfolio of the El Rey del Mundo brand currently only includes two cigars: the Choix Supreme and the Demi Tasse. For La Casa del Habano, there are several other exclusive formats.
Factories where El Rey del Mundo brand cigars were made No. 1/6 (1848-1899): Calle Gervasio No. 27 in Havana's Centro Habana district. Probably a small factory, as was common around 1840/1850.
Factories where El Rey del Mundo brand cigars were made No.2/6 (1899-1905): Calle Belascoain (today Padre Varela) No.2A, the factory of Florentin Mantilla. From 1905 this house was officially the Romeo y Julieta factory of Don Pepin.
