Quintero cigars represent an unusual history within the world of Habanos. The brand was founded in 1924 by Agustin Quintero in Cienfuegos. The factory was located at Calle D’Clouet No. 16. Today, the range comprises six handmade formats with a mixed-filler blend.

The original company name is still printed on the Quintero box today: „Quintero y Hmo.“ Hmo. is the abbreviation for Hermano = brother.

History

Agustin Quintero founded a cigar factory in Cienfuegos in 1924. The brand „Quintero y Hno.“ became particularly successful in Spain. After the revolution, production passed into state hands. The product range was reduced and production was later largely switched to machines, before Quintero was once again made by hand.

The new look of Quintero cigars emphasises their proximity to the sea with water and the setting sun on the horizon. Cienfuegos is situated on the Bay of Cienfuegos on the southern coast of Cuba.

For a few years now, the packaging of Quintero cigars has featured a fresh and invigorating light blue and white colour scheme.

The Quintero Londres Extra, one of the brand's very original formats, which has existed since before the revolution.

The 5th Earl of Lonsdale, Hugh Cecil Lowther, had his own cigar created and memorialised his name with a format designation, namely Lonsdale.
