Vegas Robaina cigars are named after Alejandro Robaina, the famous Cuban tobacco grower from the Vuelta Abajo. The brand was introduced in 1997. Their history is closely linked to the Robaina family, the plantation in San Luis and the centuries-old tradition of Cuban tobacco growing.

Alejandro Robaina is arguably the most famous tobacco farmer in Cuba and the world. His picture initially adorned the band of the Vegas Robaina brand.

History

The Robaina family has been growing tobacco in the San Luis region since 1845. Alejandro Robaina was born on 20 March 1919 and dedicated his life to tobacco. In 1997, his name became the Vegas Robaina brand. He died on 17 April 2010 at the age of 91.
