Little is known about him - except that he came from a respected family and had a solid business background. The company headquarters were located on the <strong>Calle Cuba 29<\/strong> in Old Havana, and next to <strong>La Corona<\/strong> other brands were manufactured. He already owned other brands and the famous factory <strong>La Vencedora<\/strong> at the <strong>Calzada del Monte<\/strong> (no longer in existence today). In this phase <strong>numerous brands changed<\/strong> the owner, some manufacturers <strong>left Cuba<\/strong>. The investors provided <strong>Money<\/strong>, while <strong>\u00c1lvarez<\/strong> henceforth <strong>together with Gustav Bock<\/strong> (most likely German) ran the day-to-day business. He <strong>sold all shares<\/strong> to the British <strong>Havana Cigar and Tobacco Company<\/strong> (which also includes <strong>Henry Clay &amp; Bock<\/strong> belonged) - including <strong>La Corona<\/strong>. <strong>A few months later<\/strong> the British sold <strong>All brands and production sites<\/strong> to the <strong>American Tobacco Company<\/strong>. In many traditional places, this marked the end of a <strong>Decades of cigar culture<\/strong> - It is no coincidence that the building was also called <strong>\u201eMausoleum\u201c<\/strong>, where many brands <strong>buried<\/strong> were made. According to the register <strong>91 Brands<\/strong> (others speak of <strong>over 100<\/strong>).
